Overview
This lesson checks how securely you can apply the A1 material on your own. The goal is not only to see what you remember, but to see whether your units, written explanations, and practical reasoning stay precise under test conditions.
What You Need to Know
- Expect the test to draw on quantities, units, estimates, uncertainty, and practical-paper style thinking.
- Small slips in units, wording, or method can still cost marks even when the main idea is known.
- A useful test result tells you where the pattern of errors is, not just what the total mark was.
How to Work Through It
- Read the paper quickly first and identify which questions need especially careful wording.
- Complete the test independently and show working where it helps your method.
- Use any spare time to check units, prefix conversions, and uncertainty statements.
- When the test is returned, identify the exact places where marks were lost.
Check Your Understanding
- Which question types felt strongest and which felt slow?
- Did you lose marks through missing knowledge, weak method, or imprecise language?
- Were your units and prefixes fully secure under time pressure?
- Which topic needs the most attention in the review lesson?
Common Mistakes
- Rushing short unit or prefix questions because they look easy.
- Writing an approximately right uncertainty idea without the required precision.
- Leaving out working in a way that hides the source of the error.
- Focusing only on the score instead of the pattern of mistakes.
Next Steps
- Use your marked paper to build a short list of specific revision targets.
- Bring those targets straight into the review lesson so the corrections are focused.
